RENOVATION OF BUILDING A
In 2020, the Province of Zeeland awarded the contract to renovate the entrance to the provincial government building in a sustainable and creative way.
This takes into account the demand for facilitating informal collaboration and brief consultations. The invitation to tender also takes into account the ambition of the Province of Zeeland in the field of sustainability and CO2 reduction.
The aim of the renovation is to create an open network space where people can meet and collaborate with collegeaus and external parties.

positive impact indicators
The indicators are based on NPR-CEN/TR 16208 for bio-based products. For reusability, the formula from the Cradle to Cradle Product Standard v3.0 has been used.
INDICATOR 1
The percentage of biobased raw materials in the product in relation to the total mass.
Biobased raw materials come from biomass (the biodegradable fraction of agriculture, forestry, aquaculture, industrial waste and household waste).
INDICATOR 2
Improved functionality or technical performance by using biobased raw materials.
For example: lasts longer, no emission of hazardous substances, no waste, improves air quality, less maintenance, etc.
INDICATOR 3
Insight into the CO2 emissions during the entire lifespan.
Visualize the CO2 emissions for all phases of the product life: processing, transport, use and waste.

THE TENDER
In order to achieve a uniform appearance within the abbey complex in which the various spaces are connected and to create openness, the architect has been commissioned to draw up a plan based on a program of requirements that fits within the available budget.
Sustainability, including CO2 reduction and the use of biobased materials, has been included where possible within the plan.
Extra attention was also paid to security, climate, energy consumption and acoustics.
